3M™ offers high quality respirators for welding and other metal fume environments. Our filtering facepiece respirators are compatible with welding hoods, face shields and safety glasses. 3M™ technologies, described below, provide for better performance in welding and related functions. Well suited for those who want NIOSH's highest rated filtration efficiency in a maintenance free respirator. It provides a minimum filter efficiency of 99.97% against non-oil based particles.
This respirator is an excellent choice for lead abatement, pharmaceutical manufacturing, welding, metal pouring and work involving OSHA substance specific particle exposures in concentrations up to 10 x the OSHA PEL, excluding asbestos. It features the 3M™ Cool Flow™ Exhalation Valve, comfortable faceseal, adjustable straps, and lightweight construction.

For what it is this is a very good filter it is comfortable, cheap and fits easily under the mask. Just remember that it is only a partical filter not a chemical respirator
