I would recommend this item to a friend.
Should have had this 15yrs ago.

After purchasing this model after owning my other SpeedGlas for 20yrs, I was thoroughly impressed with the much larger window. Plus because of the upgrade in technology, I can see a lot better as well. Having the cheater lens is a big plus as well. The filtration system does as promised. A bonus which I didn't expect was the under the chin cover that seals your face in to give you a closed system. Time will tell how well this will hold up. The belt system is taking some getting use to. Due to the battery weight its bulky. The sides of the belt cut into my sides a bit as I'm welding. A little annoying, but due to this I might need to purchase the backpack. The quick connect for the hose is A Plus! A downside to this helmet I've discovered is that if you need to do a quick weld with the pack off you really can't because due to the under chin cover it fogs up the glass within 15secs, so your forced to put pack on to blow clean air. Also you can't just lift up the hood to view something, because of the under the chin covering, you are forced to remove the helmet. As far as price of the helmet. Wasn't to concerned about it. My thinking was this. After welding now for over 20yrs, I decided that not only am I making an investment in my career, but also my health now.
Pros:Much larger window to view: Great all around view: Filtration system works great! Clean cool air: Battery life is better than projected. Getting 12-14 out battery. I did purchase back-up battery:
Cons:Under chin covering although good prevents you from just lifting helmet. You have to take off the helmet: Belt system cuts into your side: Due to placement of air intake, never ever eat very hot wings the night before work. You will absolutely die under your helmet!
