Dear Sirs, Is it possible to adapt my 251 HF starter for use with my stick welding generator supply??.. And is it possible to attach a welding "cable sheath" (wire mesh cover") attached to a ground, or via a capacitor could attenuate or short out all the HF radiated by the cables?? Respectfully, Jack

Can this be used with a Miller Dynasty 200SD?
By Customer Service on July 14, 2015

Answer:
The Miller Dynasty 200 SD has built in High Frequency and you would not need the Miller HF-251D-1 High Frequency Arc Starter & Stabilizer 042388. If for some reason your 200SD has lost its high freq capability you could install the HF-251D-1 to regain your high freq. Miller does not recommend doing this on a long term basis but in an emergency situation short term it will work.

Can it make my miler 300 pro run like a dynasty 350 when welding 16 gauge.
By Customer Service on October 28, 2013

Answer:
You can install the Miller HF-251D-1 High Frequency Arc Starter & Stabilizer 042388 on a Miller Big Blue 300 Pro.. You will have high frequency arc start but this will not turn the 300 pro into a Dynasty 350.. The 300 Pro does not have AC weld output so you will not be able to tig weld aluminum .. The 300 Pro weld output is only rated to a minimum of 20amps.. The Dynasty is rate down to 3 amps an because to this the Dynasty will be much better on thin material

do ineed a contactor to hookup to a bobcat 225g
By Customer Service on May 5, 2014

Answer:
You can install the Miller HF-251D-1 High Frequency Arc Starter & Stabilizer 042388 without a contactor however the Tig Torch will be "Hot" all of the time. Please help me to understand this machine. Could this high frequency arc starter be used to convert a mig welder to a tig welder for welding aluminum?

The Miller HF-251D-1 cannot convert your MIG welder into a TIG welder. If you are just looking to weld aluminum with your MIG welder, a spoolgun is what you would be looking for, however you need to be sure your machine can accept or can be adapted to accept a spoolgun.

Given that the XMT 304 CC/CV already has the ability to TIG. What would be the reason for purchasing this item?
By Customer Service on December 2, 2014

Answer:
With the XMT-304 you either scratch start or use the lift arc function to initiate the the tig welding arc.Using the Miller HF-251D-1 High Frequency Arc Starter & Stabilizer 042388 with the XMT would allow you to initiate the arc without touching the tungsten to the work. This helps to prevent tungsten contamination especially in critical tig welding applications.
