Would this product be appropriate to re-join a cut link of chain that will not be weight bearing?
Are there any limitations to the type of metal it can weld?
The Hobart Handler 125 Wire Welder 500495 uses only flux cored wire and is capable of welding up to 3/16" of steel. it cannot weld aluminum.

Is this good for auto body. Would like to learn to weld. Mostly small patches and fixing small rust spots on old cars..I read about easy sand wire does that make the grinding faster.
The Hobart Handler 125 Wire Welder 500495 would be good for light gauge material like those used in Autobody work. It can weld from 20 gauge up to 3/16" .I believe the wire you are talking about is called Easy Grind. As it's name indicates the weld joint will grind down easier because it is a softer wire than a standard mig wire. It is generally more expensive and although it is fine for patch panels it is not as good on heavier weld sections.
