Jackson Welding helmet
August 14, 2013
I bought the jackson Boss welding helmet and right out of the box the auto dark lens was not working properly. I called up Cyberweld and all the did for me was to refer me to Jackson company. After another 20 minutes on the phone all they came up with was for me to adjust the sensitivity settings. I have a Jackson welding helmet from about 2001 which works great- a little heavy, head gear needs to be replaced. I was hoping the newer jackson hood would a much more enjoyable to use. Not the case here.
Pros:I really like the head Gear, very light
Cons:The auto darking does not work as well as I want. Kept turning off after I stopping welding in about 5-20 seconds. I got flashed several times. I was having to push the on button and as long as I kept welding it would stay on.

the helmet shell is great but the auto dark lens isn't worth the price.no auto on, no solar recharge, 9 setting is to dark, tig setting is the same as grind, lens gets black spots randomly.i have a miller papr helmet that is great but a little heavy to ware for 10 hrs a day thats why i got the jackson. Mistake, oh well i won't buy a jackson product ever again.
Cons:auto dark lens
