    It is ok but does not ground well on pipe and therefore does not create a good ground. This mag switch would work fine on a shop welder not a pipeliner

    works well on round pipe, and other hard to clamp objects
    February 8, 2016
    Have only used it on pipe so far. Took it off my ground wire as I have a spool gun for alumiumn which of course doesn't attach. I am going to attach to another mig machine, which I do not use a spool gun.

    I noticed this grounding device at my local welding shop and loved its quality, compact size, strong magnet, and quick release design. I just couldn't bring myself to spend $60 on it. I then found it at Cyberweld for much less and went for it. It is very well made and I would recommend it to anyone. I figure if I am welding aluminum or stainless, I can always temporarily attach it to a separate steel clamping device.

    Very good product. I weld on a lot of tubing and pipe and the magnetic base really helps because trying to get a ground clamp around those items is very troublesome. I love this product.

    Was skeptical about the performance of this product because I have never used it before, well it worked great, very handy when working on larger items and much better than the alternative.
    ProsProvides a great ground whether using it attached to the ground wire or just clamped on.

    The Magswitch ground clamp is amazing! I've been using it about 2 weeks now and wonder how I ever got along without it.the most awkward places to ground to are auto exhausts and body panels and the Magswitch solves those problems.the 300 amp model has enough strength to hold a 6' 1/0 pigtail off the ground.overall I'm very impressed.

    Overall I am satisfied with the Mag switch. This is much easier and faster than trying to open the Monster clamp that came with my welder.
    ProsQuick; easy to use;
    ConsNot strong enough magnet to hold strong onto 1/2" steel round bar.

    Magswitch Magnetic Ground Clamp - 300 amp
    June 8, 2012
    Had the 200 amp version and it worked great, though less holding power so the heavy grounding cable would pull off if under any tension. Decided to put that one on a lower amp MIG with a lighter ground cable and use this one for the TIG. Works great and holds fast.
    ProsEasy to use - even with one hand. Can clamp to a flat surface
    ConsCan only be used on ferrous metals, though you can clamp it to a ferrous work surface if you're welding aluminum

    The Magswitch Ground clamp works just as advertised! A Much better way to ground than a clamp!
    ProsEasy to use. Works well.
    ConsPossible concern that the clamp handle may break some day from being struck or dropped.
