    February 7, 2017
Bought on the fly cause I needed it. MIG & SMAW
    ProsReadily Available
ConsSensors sensors sensors! Had to notch out my hood. Couldn't used fixed shade due to position. Needed hood down to get into position. Once welding auto lens flickered back and forth till I had my head right over the action... ended up using my pocket knife to notch out my hood. I hate having to modify new shit.

Haven't even used it yet, put in my pipeliner and the right sensor is crowed up into the corner while the left is in the open.
    ProsTwo yr warrenty
ConsSensors are offset to one side, I can't believe they would have designed this intentionally, right sensor in crowed into the opening of hood window where as the left is in the open! The whole solar and sensor array are offset approx 1/4 inch from center of lens, very disappointed!

It cuts off pretty regularly, especially when Im in a tight spot. I don't understand why they would only put two sensors on it for the auto on. I've got a 18 yr old gold plated mirror lens that's never failed me and cost way less. I've had it for two weeks and have been blinded numerous times . Manufacture needs to put on the package," not intended for position welds , jack stand only " . I give it two stars for having a good idea that's it
ProsGood for tight spots when ur hood needs to be down to stick ur head in a hole to make a weld. Good for keeping arc marks off ur pipe
ConsHardly ever works when In a tight spot , not good at all for tig welding pipe in tight spots. Made for jack stand welds only

After years of using Arc One welding lens' I thought I'd try a Miller auto Darkening lens. It darkens as advertised and is priced right but I was spoiled with the Arc One Lens. The Miller is a murky green color and does not have the clarity I enjoyed with the Arc One. I will keep this lens and use it as a back up but I will be going back to my former lens.

I am a pipe welder and often make awkward positions welds. This lens is not for this type of use, I continually get "flashed" as I am making welds with this lens. I think this is because both sensors have to be activated for it to work. If you weld in a fab shop or something this would probably be okay. But for me it has pretty much been a waste!!

    March 14, 2012
Had to give the Auto Darkening thing a try. Pretty neat not having to flip the hood up to change rods and such. Time will tell as to how long it lasts, for now it is a pleasure to use. It's use with a magnifying is a snug fit, but they both do fit.
