says 33.5" sleeve length. is that one sleeve to the other or how is that measured?
Miller Cape Sleeves - Classic Cloth 247138 is measured from the center of the neck to the end of the sleeve. Here is a link to the PDF: http://www.millerwelds.com/products/welding_protection/pdf/hand_body/apparel/jackets_sizing.pdf

It fits. It's sturdy. Clearly I'll have this one for a long time, unless one of my students steals it, which is a distinct possibility.

Much better than sleeves more flexible and cooler than leather. For the price it is a great option. If you weld overhead fluxcore or stick it would not last long.

    Suits me well.
    April 27, 2015
First let me say i normally only MIG weld in these. I have not used them with overhead stick, or anything that can really take a toll on your PPE. That being said, i was as stubborn as they come. I almost always fabricated in a sweatshirt, gloves, and welding hood. Hated big bulky protective clothing getting in my way, and making me sweat in the summer. I do a lot of in position welding, however this is all "in the field" type welding. Not in a fab shop environment for the most part. I do do some overhead welding on the bottoms of trucks, or to make repairs in places that i just simply have to crawl under. I eventually obtained a collection of sweatshirts with the sleeves basically burnt off after awhile. I would say i lay on average, 20-100ft of welds a day. This cape is light weight, and so far has managed not to catch on fire. That is all i was expecting, and for that purpose it has served well. I went an entire week without burning my arms, or burning any holes in the sleeves of the cape for that matter. I wear it while torch cutting, grinding, and welding. I wore it crawling under trucks, and while laying on the ground cutting and welding. It has not ripped or torn yet. Only used it for a week, but for 18 dollars, if it only lasts 3-6 months. Still worth the money in my opinion.

Much more durable than green jackets
    March 27, 2015
This material is much better than the standard green weld coats for around the same cost. It is easier to move around in and spatter bounces right off. I would recommend this cape or the jacket to anyone doing light to medium duty GMAW(MIG) or GTAW(TIG) welding fab and especially for production work. I would not recommend it for overhead or for SMAW(STICK) welding.
ProsLightweight protection Great value Excellent alternative to green jackets
ConsNONE-great buy for the price. Quality and value of what I expect from Miller Electric.

Great product. It works better than any cheap green sleeves ive ever used, above all it allows good air filtration. Not too hot while working in. Will shrink so if you are going to get a large get the extra large. Aside from that. Great product! No complains. After a while the fire resistance seems to have somewhat worn out...just fyi. But still does protect much more than ugly green slip-on sleeves. And for the price. I have not real complaints.

    Outstanding Cape
    February 23, 2014
I've tried several brands if capes at work, but this one has THE proper (in my opinion) combination of features to keep me using it. The mandarin collar is perfect for keeping weld splash from going down your neck regardless of what angle you're welding at and the dark navy color reflect the arc light up so you don't burn your neck and chin. Size also it almost a tailored fit. Can't say enough nice things about this cape.
ProsGood high collar, dark non-reflective color, perfect siziing.
ConsThe velcro tab at the neck is nice, but that hook and loop will wear out a lot sooner than grommets would.

    Not good
    October 11, 2013
This is a good product to a point, it provides good protection from being burnt, but the Velcro neck strap doesn't hold up very long and two of the snaps broke off after a couple of months of use. I'm not impressed with this product at all.
    Prosgood protection

    Nice lightweight and inexpensive protection
    September 2, 2013
I really like these cape sleeves! I only stick weld and they show no signs of burns at all. After three days of stick welding the only burns are on my lightweight mig gloves. Cool to wear and easy to put on. A little hot in the sun but what isn't? Price is excellent!
ProsExcellent price comfortable shrugs off sparks easy to put on I like them just as they are

    Summer Welding PPE
    July 20, 2013
This cape is cooler than wearing a welding jacket. The sizing is good and it appears to be durable. I rated it 4 stars only because it is not made in the USA.
ProsGood fit, quality material. The collar provides good neck protection.
ConsToo dark of a color makes it feel hotter in the summer sun. Not made in the USA.

This is a very nice lightweight welding cape. I am a classic medium (5'11" and 155) and it fits me in the arms and shoulders perfectly. Roomy enough to move but not sloppy. Highly recommended.

    March 9, 2012
My welding class instructor was very skeptical whether this would stand up to spatters. After 24 hours of welding classes he is very impressed. The only burn hole was from a hot piece of slag that landed in my lap without me noticing. Didn't start to burn, just a small hole. It's light weight and cool.
