This things works great I have tired all the different welding process and have not problems with any of them, and I love the fact it has a small foot print and changing from one process to another is a breeze. Also with the auto-set feature make things very nice.
Pros:It comes in a 220 and 110 in the same modelCons:cannot really find anything I dislike about the unit |

Miller Multimatic 200
November 8, 2012
![]()
Nice little machine. I had a Passport and sold it because I wanted more current than the Passport could put out at 115v. The Multimatic 200 does great at short arc mig. I was using it to weld vertical up fillet welds and it looks like the same kind weld bead that the 350P or XMT 350 produce (I own both of those larger machines). I used it to stick weld 7018 vertical up and 7010 vertical down and it does fine (at 115v). I'm quite happy with it. I also have a Maxstar 150 TIG / Stick welder that I use with 115v but I won't be selling that because it is a little less weight and more portable. I havn't tried the Multimatic 200 TIG welding yet, but I will soon. I've got a Syncrowave 351 that I do most of my TIG welding with, but the Maxstar 150 is what I use for field work.
Pros:Lightweight and multi-process on 115vCons:Would be nice to have a vercro side pocket like the Passport |

wonderful little welder

Light weight, does exactly what is advertised. I would not recommend it for an 80% duty cycle in a fab shop, but it isn't rated for that. Mine pushes a 5/32 7014 rod without any fuss (lincoln fleetweld 47). The mig functions beautifully and the tig operates just like you would expect. Only oddity is the cables outweighing the welder....an unusual occurrence.
Pros:weight & versatility |

miller multimatic 200 from cyberweld
June 28, 2012

this product has been great so far. i've used for tig and stick.
cyberweld had the best price around and was able to have the machine to me within 24 hours (my miller sales rep told me i'd have to wait a month and that it would cost 25% more!)

miller multimatic 200 auto-elite

extremely disappointed !!! Maxed out amperage using 220V input this machine struggles to strike an arc w 3/32 7018 to make matters worse this machine has no hot start setting ,not impressed with the auto select function more of a hassle then just setting the process and amperage ,more like a gimmick for the beginner that has little to no experience welding.
Merchant Response:Miller has acknowledged a problem striking an arc with stick electrodes with earlier Multimatic 200 welders. There is an available software upgrade for your machine. It is free of charge. Please contact us at (800) 245-9353 so we can send you out a memory upgrade drive.Pros:very well constructed, feels sturdy, standard accessories well made and made in U.S.A. came with bernard industrial MIG gun and a Smith regulator stinger has heavy spring tension and quality weightCons:this machine absolutely SUCKS for stick welding !!! does not come standard w TIG torch or spoolgun |
