Smith™ Nitrogen Blanketing Regulator - 3 Stage, Low Pressure 16391
Genuine Smith™ 3 Stage Nitrogen Blanketing Regulator is designed to supply constant pressure nitrogen to oil filled sub-station power transformers. The 16391 regulator will maintain oil-filled transformer atmospheres at .5 PSIG. The 3 stage regulator design consists of a two stage, preset regulator connected to a highly sensitive single stage regulator that maintains a .5 PSIG outlet pressure. A built-in safety relief valve set at 8 PSIG protects the system from over-pressurization due to temperature variations.
The unit also has a separate purge valve that has a preset pressure of 8 PSIG which is connected to the second stage, allowing quick gas filling of transformers. The highly reliable design provides constant outlet pressure and flow. Brass, aluminum and plated zinc construction provides corrosion resistance resulting in longer field life. Adjusting screws are concealed to prevent tampering.
Applications
Low pressure nitrogen gas blanketing of oil filled sub-station power transformers
Features
Large diaphragm
Allows for
highly sensitive and accurate
low pressure control.
Adjusting screw
with protective cap
to prevent tampering
Esy-to-read 2-inch gauge
With shatter-
resistant polycarbonate lens cover.
Color-coded label
Supplies performance
capabilities, easy gas service identification
and technical information.
Stainless steel diaphragm
Resists corrosion,
leaking and freeze-up if used with liquid
(cryogenic) gases for extended service life.
External relief valve
Protects regulator
from damage due to inadvertent high-pressure
surge. Relief valve will release excessive
pressure and automatically reset.
