The Thermal Arc® Fabricator® 181i with multi-purpose cart is a MIG welder, Stick welder and TIG welder in one. With 180 amps of MIG welding output and 175 amps of Stick/TIG welding output, the 181i easliy covers the most common welding applications.

    The cart was easy to assemble, the welder was easy to set up and get going. I am using to weld stainless and information on welding stainless is not specifically mentioned in the setup and in the book but I got it going OK. I love the welder. It is smooth and makes a good weld. I am a happy customer.
    Pros:
    Good welds. Easy setup.
    Cons:
    None so far.

    How does the 181 Fab. do welding aluminum??

    Answer:
    It all depends on which welding process you plan to use.. The Thermal Arc Fabricator 181i MIG/Stick/TIG Welder produces only DC weld current. Because of this it cannot tig weld aluminum.. You can stick weld aluminum with it but this generally is not a great way to weld aluminum.. The best way to weld aluminum with this machine would be to use the optional SG160ta-12spool gun
