Can you use an extension cord to the power supply? Do you sell extra weld lead cables that fit.
By Customer Service on April 17, 2014

    Answer:
The Thermal Arc 95S Stick Welder Package W1003202 can be run off of an extension cord.. You must make sure that the extension cord is heavy enough to handle the15 to 20 amp load that the machine will draw.. We do sell welding cable sets that could be used with the 95s. However these sets are not specific to the 95s and you would have to add 25 mm dinse connectors in order to be able to plug them into the 95s..You can use the Hobart Welding Cable Set - No. 4, 20 ft. 193067 or the Hobart Welding Cable Set - No. 2, 50 ft. 195195 . With either of these sets you will need to cut off the ring terminals and install a Miller # 127836 25mm dinse male connector on each cable

I am having difficulty burning 3/32 rods with my 95s. I purchased 3/32 rods that states on the package 40-70 amps ac or dc. To totally prevent them from sticking when starting an arc I have to crank the amps to 90 and then they burn real hot. Once the weld takes off it will go about 4 to 5 inches and then the 20 amp breaker trips. The electrical curcuit is a 20 amp 12 gauge wire dedicated to only one 20 amp recepticle just for the purpose to provide power for the welder. The 5/64 rods burn easy down to around 40-45 amps. I would like to burn 3/32 since they are cheaper and I have a 5 pound supply. Any suggestions.
By Customer Service on March 6, 2015

    Answer:
We have discussed your problem with Thermal Arc.You did not indicate what type of 3/32 rod you are trying to run.. Is it 6013 , 7014,7018, 6010, 6011..The Thermal Arc 95S Stick Welder Package W1003202 is not capable of running the 6010 or 6011 type rods because it does not have a high enough arc voltage . Because of this the 6010 or 6011 rods will be be hard to start and will stick..If you are going to run 6013 7014 or 7018 3/32 electrodes these rod will generally require about 85 to 95 amps to run. The 95s is capable of this but it be just about running at max which will effect the amperage draw off your electric panel.. Thermal also indicated that if you plan on running 3/32 rod that you do not run the 95s off of an extension cord.

    Nice little welder!!
    March 24, 2015
I brought this welder about 3 years ago and it keeps on running great. I am a welding teacher so I use this to demonstrate to prospective students how welding works. They can always start and run a bead with it so it builds confidence and gives a sense of accomplishment to those who try it out. I have also used it for various small jobs that don't need a larger welder, little bugger never fails me. I haven't tried it out for GTAW yet but my guess is that it will hold it's own. If you are considering buying one, and understand it's limitations, you won't disappoint you with it's ability and quality.
    Pros:
    * Light and easy to carry. * Enough power to perform the task. * Easy to set up and use. * Quality equipment. * 115/120V means you can use it just about any where you have power outlet.
    Cons:
Taken in the limitations, there are no cons.

When I bought this machine I thought it going to trash, but was very surprised to see the welder is pretty good for the price, I'm a certified welder and it can do any small jobs you need it for. I'm sure you can't weld a sch 160 all day with it buy you can defiantly weld a sch 80 joint.
    Pros:
Small runs hot and it stick and tig.
    Cons:
Can't weld all day straight with it. I haven't tried it but I not willing to find out if it can.

    Lightweight and works well

I have used this machine at work welding sheetmetal for quick maintenance repairs. It has its limits, but works very well if used with that in mind. Really beats pulling leads from a bobcat for every little thing.

This welder is really awsome! Thermal Arc 95S
    May 12, 2013
I am and have never considered myself as a good weldor but with this machine I now have the ability to tackle any welding project around the house. I recently built a scraper blade with cutting teeth that I was able to attach to and pull with my riding mower. The welds are not beautiful but they hold. Dragging it through the soil in my yard around where I recently removed an oak tree the blade continually hit roots that were left behind from the removed tree and the blade jumped out of the ground from the force. Not one broken weld. Then I added 25 pounds of weight to the attachment. Dragged it hitting the big roots again and still no broken welds. The next test will be to attach it to a friends four wheel drive atv and try to punish it in some manner. I feel confident that this machine is capable of producing great welds no matter the level of experience of the operator. Most of my welding is done with 5/64" 6011 rods. I use 1/16" on sheet gage material and 3/32" on thick stuff but not as much as with the 5/64". Arcs are easy to start and I am noticing that the more I use this machine the weld quality is improving. I bought this machine from Cyberweld and I was very pleased with their service and prompt shipping. I don't know anyone that ever used a Thermal arc 95s or purchased any merchandise from Cyberweld and when I ever consider another welding purchase in the future I will first look toward Thermal Arc and Cyberweld. Thanks.
    Pros:
The 95S is a great machine for around the house welding products.
