    It's The Best !
After almost 40 years of burning rod I have never had such a perfect hood ! My first was a birthday present from a friend an now I am on only my second. I bought a third just in case. Never has failed in any way ,very light and compact. The fact that it is so light doesn't strain neck muscles during long hours. Plain and simple, I don't need a computer hanging off my head!
ProsLight and simple. No electronics to go afoul. Fits close so you can get into tight spots.

    Perfect hood
This hood is perfect. DO NOT put a 2x4 miller ad in as it blocks 1 sensor and flashes in somewhat tight spots. I threw in an arc one tradesman ad and it hasn't flashed me once. I use a hard hat halo and this hood (unlike my expensive miller dig. elite) does not ever fall.
    ProsLightweight. Comfortable. Easy to maintain.
ConsBottom could use a very small trimming.

This website is great. No shipping costs, and only 2 day delivery. The packaging was well done, and I received my first ever welding hood intact. The hood itself was exactly what I wanted, and I proudly showed it off. It works perfectly.
ProsHood was not damaged, shipping was fast, and without cost. The hood was also a very good price compared to what I've seen.
ConsDidn't know the hood adjusted via rubber strap rather than a knob on the back, but I can't complain!! : )

    Great product.
This helmet rules. Very, very light and durable. Had s bunch of miller helmets and i doubt ill switch back to a heavy auto darkening. The only thing I'm not fond of is the head gear, not a deal breaker though.
ProsLight. Durable. Few parts to worry about breaking.

    Simply the best.
I have a huge collection of hoods, Jackson Truesight, Jackson Shadow HLS1, Speedglas 9100XX, FiberMetal Tigerhood Flip-Front and 2 Pipeliner hoods. With that being said I can say the Pipeliner Hood is my favorite. I'm not a pipe welder but I do overhead MIG daily and I can say this hood excels in every situation I put it through: weather I'm doing layout tacking all day, welding overhead, getting in real tight spots, welding on jackstands, 10 ft up on a latter, gravy bench welding or Whatever the day brings this hood dose it better than any other. I used to primarily use the Speedglas but I always felt like I had to be careful when overhead welding and also the cover lenses are absolutely over priced. I bought this hood purely because of all the hype I hear on the internet and it lives up to the hype 100% This hood is compact, every other hood is too bulky or top heavy, this hood is light, this hood is though. I'm so in love with this hood I would pay 1000$ for it if I had to. A lot of my coworkers laugh at me at work for using such a simple old school hood- Even my foreman told me "you look like some kind of ship welder, buy a Miller Ryan!" they all have fancy Millers or Lincolns with fancy graphics I just laugh because I've tried it all and have learned the beauty and simplicity of this hood and the rest of my hoods are all collecting dust at home. I put a Arc One S240 in mine and got the Arc One pipeliner headgear and spray painted it matte black and cut about 5/8 off the bottom and I love this hood! I bought a back up too.
ProsLight weight, uses standard lenses, all position welding hood, can swap your lens to auto dark or fixed shade depending on your mood, if you uses a buttoned up shirt and make sure not to extend your neck put too much You will not get neck burns or need an ugly leather bib, durable, easy to paint, small lens and compact design allows no backlight to shine on the lens. I can go on and on just buy one

    My All Time Favorite
I've used a lot of different hoods over the years, but I always stick with my pipeliner. You don't need a 250-400 dollar hood to weld. I tig with this hood just as much as I stick and mig. They're durable, lite weight, inexpensive, and in my opinion super comfortable. Great hood for overhead welding as well. Replacement parts are easy to come by, and cheap. This one's a no brainer. Best all around hood on the market.
ProsI can get down to welding instead of worrying about scratching some fancy hood. I look dead sexy in it.

Since 1974 this is the only hood I've used. Used it on sites in Wyoming, Oklahoma, Arizona, Colorado, Illinois, Arkansas, S. Dakota, Louisiana, Texas, Florida and Tennessee. Tried others but they seemed to heavy or bulky. I also liked the heavy rubber band instead of the ratchet type on the head harness. Now it's a sentimental thing, I don't want any of the new ones.
    ProsLightweight Simple
ConsI've noticed after 10 years or so the exterior corners where the lens goes gets a little worn through.

    Great Hood
This hood is great. High quality construction, light weight and has an excellent lens. I can see the puddle very well through the lens. The lens is kind of bronze in color and works great. Have been using the hood to stick weld. It has a nice headgear with the rubber at the rear like many guys like. Just a nice hood.

    This is what i did
I have been using this hood for about 3 months now and have no intentions to switch. I own a miller elite and a Jackson fixed shade. I purchased the arc one retro fit auto lens (the s240 , $100) . It works great for tig and stick welding. When i need a passive filter i just drop it in. Also i can take my auto lens and drop it into a flip goggle for those really tight spots. the hood is great! the rubber strap is very comfortable and i can honestly say this hood has never pulled my hair out... the elite likes to do that. This is my lightest hood and i like how it flips over center when all the way up so it doesn't fall in your face constantly.
    Prosgreat price, light weight, comfortable,
Consmaybe could lose an inch or two in the chin area.... haven't decided if i need to yet,

    Great helmet!
I've been using an AD hood since I started welding school but couldn't use it for overhead as it was getting messed up. Looked around for a good passive hood and this got great reviews. Can see why. Very comfortable (I like the rubber band cuz the ratchet at the back of the head on my AD ends up hurting after a while). I can really get in close when welding. Very happy with this hood, so much so that I like it much more than my AD. I can see the puddle and the bead so much better out of this hood than out of my AD hood.
    ProsComfortable, sturdy

    My favorite hood
I bought this hood with the intention of using it for tight quarters ... There are many times where I have to weld overhead or out of position on my back and my old AD hood was too heavy or the adjustment knob would dig into my head thereby altering the position of the lens.... I bought this hood with the rubberband setup on the back for comfort / position.... I ended up liking this hood so much that I stopped using my $350.00 9400i hood that I bought from Miller.... Don't get me wrong here... There is nothing wrong with my AD hood.... It's just that the clarity from my pipeliner can't be beat... I replaced the stock lens with a Athermal gold plated glass lens.... The color and sharpness/ detail of the weld puddle cannot be beaten by any AD lens IMO .... Or I should say from my experience .... I have both Miller and Jackson AD hoods.... This pipeliner is the only hood I weld with now!
ProsLightweight and clarity ( with the right lens)
ConsYou do have to adjust the rubberband in the back every so often... You can purchase a ratcheting system but then you will defeat the purpose of a low profile hood.

    Be a real welder
Simple as this: If you want the best hood available, get this one. Unless you are a professional tack welder, an auto hood is a waste of money. Learn to pop your helmet down and be old school. I have seen my employees go through countless hundreds of dollars trying to make their auto helmets the best they can. All the while, I rock the pipeliner and don't have to worry about my battery going out, my delicate lens getting broken if I look at it wrong, or my el cheapo headgear costing me half a week's pay if it breaks. I've used the exact same helmet I bought 20 years ago when I was learning to weld.
ProsEffective, no 1/20,000 second delay, light weight, no batteries, no plastic, no $5 protective plates.
ConsAt some point during their tenure, I have to loan it to someone for a day so they don't spend two hours trying to find a new battery.

    Best helmet on the market
There is a reason pipe welders choose this helmet more than any other. This helmet is made for those that keep there shield down more than up. Its also made for those that never learned how to push a button in order to weld. Other than replacing headgear every so often, this helmet will outlast the welder.
Pros-light weight -no batteries -no electronics -tough as nails -good for tight spots -made from fiberglass and not plastic -not going to cost you $300.00 if you drop it -cheap upkeep, cheap parts, easy to find
