All of the helmets that you are considering except the Save Phace will problably meet your needs .. For the price the Balder Smartiger would be a good choice the optics in the Balder helmet are superior to any of the others.. Your view of the weld is much clearer because of this..All of the helmets you listed are made over seas.. The Miller and Hobart in Korea.. The Balder in Solvenia andthe Save Phace in China

The Pro fits my big head great. The auto setup is easy to get used to. Field of view is excellent. The reviews don't lie on this one. I almost spent twice as much on another brand for name only. Happy Camper
After buying a cheaper auto darkening helmet and having it fail sporadically, (unexpected flashes quickly changes one's mindset on cost vs eyes) I researched and bought this helmet. Realizing that each person is different, for me this is the best helmet I have owned in terms of fitting, comfort and vision.. The change time is fast, all controls are inside the helmet, very easy breakdown and Cyberweld had the best price.

Over all a really great hood!
I had to get a new helmet when my Speedglas 9100x finally flickered it's last. I didn't want to spend the $400 on a new Speedglas and I started looking at reviews for new hoods. The Hobart pro kept coming up on a bunch of different sites as a great deal, so I gave it a shot and yeah, it's a really great hood. MIG or tig it works great. A huge field of view, easy controls and excellent response time. Good buy for a great price.
ProsField of view is just massive, it's awesome. I had to start welding on a higher shade then normal because it's just so much more area to let in light.(that's a plus). Fully enclosed electronics are a big plus, that's what did in my Speedglas. The price is definitely worth the product.
ConsAlthough the head gear is a serious upgrade from previous Hobart and Miller helmets, since Miller bought them out. It still leaves a bit to be desired, nothing you can't deal with, but still annoying. You really need to tighten it down a lot so it stays up and the back pad is too hard.

    Great Helmet
Helmet performs as advertised. The headband works well and adjusted to my head very well. It feels secure and never gives the feeling that it might release and fall off. The down position angle is easily adjusted and will adjust to an angle that is comfortable for you. There is a latched up notch that is somewhat more stiff to position the helmet in, I suspect this will become more friendly as helmet is used. The speed at which the window dims is excellent and the adjustments are easily understood. If you are welding outside, the sensitivity can be adjusted to help prevent needless dimming from sunlight hitting sensor. I like that this helmet comes in black without the flamboyant paint jobs that are seen on so many helmets. Extra clear protective lens come with helmet and a short user's manual is also included which makes it easy to take advantage of all the features. I found this helmet on sale which made it an even better value.
ProsSecure and adjustable headband Large, completely adjustable dimming lens. Extra protective lens 3 sensors

    Awesome product!
I purchased this helmet after reading several good reviews on it.
ProsLarge viewing area, 1/30,000 darkening time, easy to use adjustments, comes with extra protective lenses. the head straps are so comfortable I forget that I am wearing it. I think it is a great helmet, at an unbeatable price.
ConsNot a con but it would be nice to have a torch setting.

    I like it, good helmet.
The headgear is different than the past 2 Hobart helmets I've had. Clear welding picture, fast response to arc. Great price on this helmet beating other site by. $50-100.
ProsBig site viewing area. Quick response to arc.
ConsHead gear different than past. Not bad IMO but way more adjustable than I need.

    Worth the money
Cannot complain. Works just as well as my co-workers much higher priced miller brand(jackson) helmet. Wouldnt hesitate to buy it again, if you dont mind not having goofy graphics on your welding helmet.

    Very good
The helmet works perfectly. The clear state is really clear, which for me is one of the most important things. Of course the darkening response is as fast as it needs to be. It all looks very high quality.
ProsClear state real DIN 3. Very Confortable. Durable quality. Perfect lenses.
ConsHeavy. I've been using auto darkening helmets for 9 years, and this is definitely the heaviest. It seems they focused on quality, durability and comfort and missed weight Completely. Sometimes I weld for 5 hours straight, and this issue becomes very important.

Can't beat the price for this helmet.
I have the xvx that the new pro model is replacing. My hood is on my head 7 days a week for weeks at a time. You can't beat the price of this hood compared to any others. The head gear is extremely comfortable and fits perfect. Lens seems a little clearer than the old one. Previous one lasted 6 years before starting to act up enough I decided to replace it.
    ProsPrice Quality Clarity Head gear.
ConsDoesn't seem to have a lock position when the hood is up. Slight double view of arc in certain positions.

    Buy it!!
I'm an Ornamental Iron worker by trade. My helmets get pretty beat up at work. I was on my second speedglas helmet, but the lens died on me. I didn't want to drop another $400 on a helmet that gets abused. I read all the reviews on the Hobart Pro & opted to try one. It is the fastest reaction time helmet on the market. I am extremely pleased with this helmet. I'm pretty sure hobart was bought out by Miller years ago? The new hobart head gear closely resembles the gear in a Miller digital elite(coincidence?). I was totally on the fence about buying this helmet but I am really glad I did.
ProsReaction time, ability to see clearly through lens, head gear & grind mode.
ConsOnly con for me is that I feel the shell is a tad flimsy.

    Nice Helmet
Simple to setup, works great, awesome headgear too which is very comfortable. Has a clear consistent view through every part of the slightly larger-than-normal window whichs progressively darkens further only at the extreme perimeter instead of having 'shadows' in random sections. Parts are easy to change. I was happy to find a helmet in this price bracket of such quality that you can also replace the batteries in.
ProsNo learning curve, simple and straightforward setup through intuitive controls which are all inside the helmet to speed up multiple setting changes/checks and protect settings against accidental adjustment when working in tight spaces.
ConsNot entirely a con but if you're one who would enjoy the feature (I think everybody), the locked-up position in the pivot is a great touch and for sure saves more headaches than it creates; but it takes a while to get broken-in. While it breaks-in it can be difficult to put the helmet into this stable full-up position without making the headgear slip, though you can still nod the helmet back down in the normal fashion... even more easily than a standard one if you wish since you can run much lighter tension at the side-knobs with this second means of keeping the helmet open. Great price
Nice helmet. Very clear, and remarkably fast to go dark at the flash. One complaint: It's difficult to tighten the helmet so it stays up when I want it to. It keeps flopping back down un-necessarily. Other than that, I am very pleased with the lens adjustment, weight (light) and overall quality. It's the best helmet I've ever owned.

    Very comfortable
My time using the helmet is limited, but immediately it was clear it fit my head much better than my other welding helmet. The auto-darkening works as indicated, and can be set for a good range of shades. The trigger can be set quite sensitive. I want to avoid micro-flashes by illuminating my work with a flood light such that when I look directly at the work area, the helmet darkens, even before I hit the MIG trigger. This has worked in testings.
    ProsComfy, good view

    Excellent Helmet
I'm a novice autobody MIG welder and first time user of auto-darkening technology. After researching multiple welding helmets at various websites and reading their reviews, I bought this welding helmet because of its high reviews, Hobart brand name, and most importantly, for its very fast reaction darkening time. I was impressed with it's viewing and configuration controls, especially the time-delay adjustment after a weld is completed. Another reason for buying this one was it didn't have the external darkening adjustment knob, so you don't have to worry about bumping the helmet in confined spaces and having the adjustment knob potentially move to a lower darkening setting and increase your risk of eye injury. Like other reviews noted, the helmet is a bit flimsy, and I noticed that there was a little more peripheral exposure on the sides of the helmet when welding, compared to my existing helmet. It's also a bit tricky to get to the batteries. There's a rubber seal around the window unit that you have to remove to get access to the two batteries. You just need to be careful in removing it as it is a pretty snug fit. I like the low battery warning sensor too. Overall, I very pleased with this helmet.
ProsOne of the fastest, auto-darkening reaction times. Low battery sensor. Post weld, time-delay adjustment. Comfortable fit. You can wear a baseball cap backwards and still fit the helmet comfortably. Adequate space for wearing glasses too.
ConsA bit flimsy when handling and fitting it. Little more peripheral exposure on the sides of the helmet when welding.

    nice hood, but it's heavy.
I bought this hood to replace my 8 year old Miller. Lots of adjustments to get it to fit right. Crystal clear lens, much clearer than my old Miller. However, this hood is heavy. If this is your first hood, you might not notice it, but this is much heavier than my Miller. I also like that it has a detent to hold the hood up so you can look down a bit and not have the hood slam down, but it ratchets down which is a bit annoying. It also takes a bit of force to nod your head hard enough for the hood to cone down which can cause it to shift on your head and not be as comfortable as it was originally set.
ProsLarge, clear viewing area, fast response.
ConsA bit heavier than I'm used to and the hood ratchets down and is a little stiff to nod down.

    pro series hobart autodarkening helmet
i've used a number of different helmets and for the money this is by far the best vaule out there. there are more expensive ones out there that may be helpful in a very few specific applications and i used the cheap ones which are a huge plus for someone just moving up but for the money, this is it. since i weld in some tight areas and weird positions the i don't have to worry about the helmet bumping off of any external knobs. it. i prefer the internal controls because i use it in some weird out of position situations where my helmet is rubbing on the work an
Prosinternal controls are less likely to get changed from accidental external contact. large viewing area fast switching time diopter lenses available for them for those of us that like to weld without glasses on very adjustable and super comfortable headgear
Consi have read where people have had issues with the headgear breaking but mine has not. just remember they are not football helmets and with any piece of electronic equpment, a little care goes a long way.

    feels cheap
I can see the weld puddle, tig welding better than my cheap $40 Auto Darkening helmet.
ProsThe electronics and the larger view are good.
ConsDisappointed in how the head gear holds up the helmet, it will not stay up unless you tighten it as hard as you can. Then you have to pull it down. The helmet material is very flimsy. It does not feel like a $160 helmet.

    Excellent Helmet
I did some research and determined this helmet had all the features I wanted at the lowest price. After using it with stick and TIG I am very happy with it. The head band is comfortable. It stays dark down to just a couple amps.
