Can I run a Multimatic 220 off of this machine?
1 Answer
Yes you can run a Multimatic 220 on the Bobcat 260. You need a 9000 watt generator for the Multimatic 220 and the Bobcat has a 9500 watt generator. You will need an adapter cord part no. 300517 FULL KVA, BOBCAT/TRAILBLAZER.

can you run your accessories on idle or does it have to be on high idle
1 Answer
On the Bobcat when operating accessories it will go to high speed and remain there regardless of the load put on the aux power or welding output. It will return back to idle when the load is removed.
It is designed to work this way on this machine.

The Miller Bobcat 250 Welder 907500001 can weld aluminum using a spoolgun..If you plan to weld aluminum in the 1/4" or thicker range you will need to add a 30a Spoolgun (130831) or a 15a Spoolgun (195156) plus a WC 115A Control with contactor (137546)..If you are planning to weld lighter gauge aluminum using up to a max of 150 amps and a max wire size of .035 you can use the 3035 Spoolgun (195016) plus a SGA100c Control with contactor (043857)..

What would I need to weld aluminum with This unit ?i would opt in for the max star 150 . But that's only a dc tig.so could I use a spool mate Gun on this unit ? If so how f
1 Answer
The Miller Bobcat 250 Welder 907500001 is not a great choice for mig or tig welding aluminum. It does not have the circuitry to run an aluminum spoolgun without adding a spoolgun adapter box and the cost for this adapter box can be over $1000.00 . To upgrade it to aluminum tig capabilty will also be around $1000.00 and you will not have any remote amperage control capability.(No Footpedal) A better choice would be a Miller Trailblazer .

What does the GFCI do and what is the advantage to an electric fuel pump? What is the advantage of EFI?
1 Answer
The GFCI that is offered as an option on the Miller Bobcat 250 Welder 907500001 is a device that shuts off the auxiliary power circuit when it detects that current is flowing along an unintended path, such as through water or a person. It is used to reduce the risk of electric shock. The standard fuel pump used on the Bobcat is a vacuum style pump. At higher altitudes the vacuum pump will lose some of its efficiency. In this case the electric fuel pump is recommended.Just like in today's cars EFI is more efficient than a carburetor. It provides easier faster starts, smoother operation and better fuel economy.

I am interested in the bobcat 250 but can i run a spoolgun for aluminum off this if so what do i need. I have a 30a spooolgun to use.
1 Answer
If you have a Miller 30A Spoolgun and want to install it on a Miller Bobcat 250 Welder 907500001($3925.00) you will need a Miller WC115A Weld Control with Contactor 137546011($1035.00) plus cables.. A Miller Trailblazer 325 Welder 907510001 ($4742.00) would be a better choice for use with a 30A Spoolgun than the Bobcat 250. To install the 30A on the trailblazer all you would need is a Miller WC-24 Weld Control 137549 ($287.00)
