    Great for TIG and Stick
    January 17, 2016
I got mine about 4 months back and have been using them ever since, I TIG a lot of different stuff, Aluminum, Stainless, Steel, Brass, Copper, Etc. and have done a lot of stick with them as well. They are light and comfortable to wear, they do keep you protected from spatter but the spatter does "melt/burn" onto it if it drops from above or "pops" (like brass) other than that, they are great. If you fabricate and don't need to stick your head right next to the puddle but can keep a distance as the spatter will not hit your arms or chest and if you keep your body out of the sparks, you will be good and they will last. Mine are 4 months old and have a few battle scars but overall, still in great condition.
ProsGood material, nice look and comfortable. good protection against grinding, sticking, tigging, cutting and UV.

    Don't bother
    August 24, 2012
I got this as a gift since I'm allergic to thorium that almost all welding leather is treated with. Welding 4G flux core resulting in a huge burn hold in the fabric and my shoulder, as well as multiple burns on my arms. It did alright with 6010/7018 stick welding, repelling that spatter fairly easily but even then the fabric was scorched and I doubt it would stand up long. Mine doesn't even breathe well. I constantly have to take it to cool down, and if I hang it up sweat literally pours out of it and puddles on the floor. If you're going to be doing stick in your back yard, this might work for you, otherwise skip it.
    ProsDoesn't make me break out.
ConsLack of protection Outright lies about capability Price

    For The Weekend Welder
    July 18, 2012
I am a construction welder. The WeldX CarbonX Fabric did an acceptable job of repelling sparks and weld spatter. The material is VERY prone to rips and tears if caught on even the slightest sharp edge. I burn through a set of leather cape sleeves about every 3 months. These cape sleeves did not last any longer than leather (mainly because of all the rips and tears). The only benefits I enjoyed were the lighter weight and better airflow. These cape sleeves would be very good for someone who welds in a controlled environment. They are definitely NOT worth the extra money for someone who actually gets down and dirty in their welding profession. I too am switching back to leathers.
    ProsLightweight Increased Airflow
ConsRips and Tears easily Did not resist burns any better than leather

    not as protective as leather.

Good product for the garage. Welder. Not recommend. For production welding. does not protect from burns; or repelled spatter like they claim. Only good thing is its light weight. I'm going back to leathers.
    ProsLight weight.
ConsDoes not protect from burns as well as leather.
