Miller® Thunderbolt® 160 DC Stick Welder 907721

The Miller® Thunderbolt® 160 is a 160 amp DC stick welder that weighs only 15 pounds and operates on either 120 volt or 240 input power. The Thunderbolt 160 is nearly 100 pounds lighter than previous models and comes complete with shoulder strap and cable pouch. It features Miller's MVP™ (Multi-Voltage-Plug) system which allows you to switch quickly and easily between 120 volt and 240 volt input power.

The Thunderbolt® 160 DC stick welder has Hot Start™ technology for smooth, reliable arc starts and comes with Miller's True Blue® 3 year warranty.

    On the Miller thunderbolt 160 stick welder how many amps would I loose using it on 120 v circut if I replaced the welding cables with 4 gauge 25 ft? Or how many amps per ft would I loose ? I am trying to avoid using an extension cord.

    Miller Thunderbolt 160 DC Stick Welder 907721 max output on 110v input is 80 amps. You would be able to run 80 amps at a 10% duty cycle or 65 amps at a 20% duty cycle running up to a total of 100 feet #4 cable.

    how is the welding capability if you add cable extensions to the already 10 foot factory cables, lets say another 10 to 15 feet each?

    Adding 10 or 15 feet to the lead/ground on the Miller Thunderbolt 160 DC Stick Welder 907721 will not affect the performance of the machine. If you were to go over 100 total feet you would need to upgrade the cable.

    The only difference between the Miller Thunderbolt 160 DC Stick Welder 907721 and the Hobart Stickmate 160i Stick Welder 500570 is that the thunderbolt comes with a carrying bag for your weld leads.

    Excellent little light weight welder.
    Received the welder in great time.The welder performs just like I thought it should. Have used it with 110 power so far. Have had the lincoln crackerbox 220 stick welder and its big and heavy so in comparison there is none.
