Is there a difference between the hobart and miller welders? As the hobart unit is a couple of hundred dollars cheaper. I don't mind spending the money if there is a difference that warrants it. I'm going to welding school and am looking for a stick machine so I can practice on the week ends. It says it will work with 6010 but not on open root. I'm wanting to practice my pipe welding.
    1 Answer
The only difference between the Miller Thunderbolt 210 DC Stick Welder 907722 and the Hobart Stickmate 210i Stick Welder 500571 is that the Miller comes with a cable pouch.

    Get the Hobart version.
But the Hobart Stickmate 210i, it's the same machine but over $200 cheaper.
