Are these gloves better then the Tillman Welding Gloves - Super Premium Elkskin 850 for stick welding because this is the first time I saw them in the selection for stick welding gloves so I'm assuming their new. I'm just looking for the best pair of gloves I can get before I start welding classes. so if you can please tell me if these would be better I would appreciate it.

The Tillman Welding Gloves - Super Premium Black ONYX Elkskin 875 and the Tillman Welding Gloves - Super Premium Elkskin 850 are basically the same glove. The only real difference other than the color between these two types is the cuff. The cuff on the 850 is a stiff cowhide whiles the 875 has a top to grain soft cuff.

    Well Made Gloves
The gloves are a bit thin on the palm side, but it doesn't bunch up or get hard if the glove gets exposed to something extremely hot.
ProsVery pliable and supple leather Thick backhand insulation
Consrough side of the leather faces to the outside fingertips are a little worn after 2 weeks

    great gloves
My last pair took twice as long to shrivel and shrink as compared to cowhide. Good insulation on back of hand and fingers. Thinner inside fingers and palm makes for good dexterity. Great for manipulating that trigger for flux core.
ProsEverything about these gloves is great.

    Great gloves
So far I absolutely love these gloves they are thin enough to really be able to work your hands while still being thick enough to keep the heat and slag off of you. I burn a lot of 6010 and as I'm sure you all know 6010 splatters like you wouldn't believe but so far the seams have held up no issues. I especially like these because they don't have exposed threads on the seams so they are less likely to split. I will most definitely be using these gloves exclusively from here on.
ProsNo exposed seams Comfortable Thin enough to work your hands however you need to Very soft elkskin

    Amazing Gloves
Very thick but super mobile. I weld stick and mig about 10 hours a day 5 days a Week and I've had these for a month. No wear has appeared so far. They have enough dexterity to TIG weld with as well.
ProsVery Thick Very Mobile Comfortable Don't deform when hit with heat Unmatched Durability
    ConsI don't have 3 pairs

    DONT STOP SELLING/MAKING THESE!!!
Best, versatile welding gloves. From stick to tig (even feeding .035" mig wire) without changing gloves. Heat shielding padding on top hand/fingers and unlined leather palm/fingers perfect mix of dexterity and protection. Ordered second pair and plan on many more. Only thing is: don't pick up hot metal with unlined palms... you shouldn't be handling hot metal with your gloves anyway (but even if you do the elk skin remains soft unlike other materials).
    ProsEverything
    Cons...Possible discontinuation...?
