This connector is supposed to run two torches from one reg. Since they indicate a flow direction, could the valves be turned around so you could use it to run two fuel sources to one torch? I go back and forth between acet and LP and don't want to unhook hoses anymore.
    1 Answer
The Western Oxy/Fuel "Y" Connections w/Valves 111K is designed to run two torches from one regulator. The manufacturer does not recommend modifying it for any other applications

What are the point & uses of the Y connection with valves vs the Y connection without independent valves? Where does regulator go? One regulator before the Y or two regulators after the Y? How do you know how much pressure is being let of of the Y on each line when you open and close the valves? Thanks.
    1 Answer
The Y connection with valves allows two users to individually shut the gas flow off to their hoses closer to the regulator rather than all the way at the end of the hose with the torch valve. This helps keep your hoses empty of gas when they are not in use. TheY typically screws directly onto the regualtor outlet. Each set of hoses will therefore receive the same pressure. Your gas regulator outlet pressure guage will indicate how much gas pressure is going into your hoses.

Great Product when you have one tank and two torches
    March 19, 2019
I purchased this "Y" connection so I could leave both my OA and Air Fuel torches attached at the same time to a single tank of acetylene. Western makes great products and I have used their quick connects and flashback arrestors. Cyberweld is great, fast shipments, packaged well and quality products.
ProsEasy to install and allows attaching two torches to a single tank.
