Funnels sparks into helmet.
February 26, 2019
Bought on sale at Cyberweld.com along with Black Stallions bib to block welding light reflection and a 3M face mask to push breathing down and away from fogging lens. While the combo/setup does block light well, the Glare Guard channels more sparks into the helmet. To stop this from happening I over adjusted the sides to close the front helmet to Glare Guard gap so it rested on the helmet. Unfortunately the Glare Guard now hung up on the hoods flange above the lens making it impossible to re-close the helmet after opening. I bought and added fire retardant fabric around the whole radius and that did stop sparks from getting in. To summarize: very poor untested design that looks ridiculous and makes it hard to mount, remove and transport.
Does block most light from behind
Channels sparks into helmet.
Makes helmet cumbersome to put on, take off and transport.
Would catch wind outside.
Looks ridiculous.
