Genuine Speedglas™ Adflo™ PAPR (Powered Air Purifying Respirator), with G5-01 welding helmet and G5VC (Variable Color) Auto-Darkening Filter, provides clean, easy breathing for up to 12 hours of welding. The Adflo blower assembly, with HE filter, removes harmful weld fume and other particulates associated with welding; including hexavalent chromium. The G5-01 welding hood features a flip-up shell and two independent air-flow controls that allow you to customize the distribution of purified air within the helmet. Air can be directed toward visor/face and top/sides in whatever combination provides you the most comfortable welding experience. The 3M™ Adflo™ PAPR is designed for use above sea level approximately 0-10,000 ft (5,000 ft with OV/AG cartridge) and has integrated automatic altitude compensation to adjust for changes in air density.
The G5-01 with G5VC offers Natural Color Technology and 12.5 square inches of viewing area. The entire front portion of the helmet flips up to reveal an integrated clear polycarbonate grinding shield with a 27.4 square inch viewing area. The G5VC's unique variable color lens allows you to customize the visual appearance of your view, when your lens is in the dark (welding) state. Digital controls on the back of the lens allow you to choose from natural color, cool (blue tint) or warm (yellow tint). Simply select the experience that is most productive for you. The G5VC lens will automatically return to "natural color," when in the light/grinding state.
The Speedglas G5-01 with G5VC ADF has other innovative features, like TAP Function and Bluetooth connectivity. TAP Function allows you to quickly and easily switch between grind/weld mode and cut/weld mode by simply tapping on the outside of your helmet shell. With welding gloves still on, you can tap the side of your helmet to change from grind to weld, or cut to weld, and back again. There is no need for external grind controls. Bluetooth connectivity, through the Speedglas app on your phone, keeps track of usage data, maintenance intervals and firmware updates for your lens. Through the app, you can also program memory modes, sensitivity and delay settings, and have instant access to owner's manuals. You can also electronically "mark" your lens to help prevent theft.
The Speedglas G5-01 with G5VC ADF has four arc sensors and operates in weld, cut and grind modes. It is rated for low amperage TIG welding down to 1 amp. Switching speed is 0.1 milliseconds. The G5-01 auto darkening welding hood features shade 8-14 weld mode, shade 5 cut mode and shade 3.0 grind mode/light state. It comes complete with Speedglas' innovative headgear, with independent friction and helmet "park" controls. Adjustments for crown height, distance and headsize add to overall welding comfort and safety. Side windows increase peripheral vision and make the welder more aware of the welding environment.
