Jackson Welding Helmet - HSL1 Passive Lens 14979

This is a decent hood. I do a lot of over head MIG and I wouldn't dare use this hood for it. I have and it lets a lot of light in from under the hood burning your neck and it doesn't have good coverage when doing overhead your head gets burnt up. I get in real tight spots and frequently poke my head in areas where only my head and mig gun can fit and one of this hoods biggest pitfalls is that it is very bulky and too big for my taste. My primary hood is a FiberMetal Pipeliner and it excels in every situation I put it through unlike this hood. So this hood is not suited for tight spots or overhead so in my opinion its not versatile. If you do easy money gravy work bench welds this hood is acceptable. I do like this hood though its very comfortable and stays up when its supposed to and it is relatively light but like I said its limited in what it can do so I wouldn't really recommend it as a primary hood but its a great back up to keep at the shop or in your trunk. It would be nice if Jackson made a hood for overhead welding instead of all these bench welding hoods.
