I purchased the Truesight 2 lens and a hood from Cyberweld. I've been using the lens for about a month now. I'm a professional welder/ fabricator of 25 years.
So far I like the Truesight 2 overall. The clarity is very good. I like the user interface/ the buttons for adjustment. The outer cover lens has a rubber seal molded into the edges. So the cover lens seals off the front of the auto lens very well from the outside. However when its cold out, I get condensation in between the outer lens and the auto lens. The condensation collects on the lower solar assist panel, and comes from exhaling with the hood down. The inside of the hood isn't sealed off much at all. So if you're running dual shield, you shouldn't get soot in between the cover lens and auto lens, unless the smoke is coming behind the hood.
Condensation aside, I do like the way the inner cover lens snaps into place and has a built in holder for a cheater lens. I also like the way the auto lens clasps into the hood. I previously owned a Jackson Insight and the clasp on that hood is garbage. The insight lens wasn't too bad, but not nearly as refined/ user friendly as the Truesight.
The biggest negative with the Truesight 2 has been that the lens randomly shuts off intermittently. You have to push a button to turn it on, and if you stop using it, it will eventually shut itself off. However, it will sometimes shut itself off while I'm still actively using it. Sometimes multiple times in an hour. Its like it…
