Optrel® Weldcap® 1008.000

The Optrel® Weldcap® combines the protection of an auto-darkening welding hood with the comfort of a flame retardant baseball cap. The result is a lightweight, variable shade 9 to 12 welding protection system that can be worn all day. Weldcap's revolutionary auto dark lens allows for a dramatically increased field of vision that is up to 270% greater than a standard 2 1/2 x 4 1/4 inch welding lens. The innovative nose cut out, along with the unique shape of the Weldcap ADF combine to provide the widest view of the work area of any other welding helmet in its class.

The Weldcap lens features a single, wide-angle sensor and can be operated in variable shade 9 to 12 welding mode or shade 3 grind mode. The auto-dark lens assembly comes with a two year warranty.

      Great Product Great Service

      Cyberweld went above and beyond with my purchase. The item was damaged upon delivery, but they were on top of it right away and even getting me a replacement within the week. Never once had an issue and they updated me every step of the way reassuring me that its being taking care of.

      This is the type of company to deal with and to buy from. Any inquiries were answered within the day. Will buy again with confidence from these fine folks.

      Great weld hood for the money

      Weld cap by optrel is a great low cost high quality hood. I have two other optrels and wanted a lower cost one when I'm teaching welding.

      Pretty Good

      I bought this from Cyberweld because it was only $99. I am a Tig welder and this unique helmet/cap is very good for tig (I wouldn't recomend it for other types of welding).

      The color scheme with the neon green looks like something from the 80s or 90s, all black would look much better. The cap seems small but it does fit. It would have been better if they looked at real baseball caps from the USA and designed it more like that.

      If you are wearing a 3M respirator, the front of the weldcap fits very good with or without glasses.

      It is nice if you keep this thing on while you are working. Most people are used to flipping their helmet up when not welding. This thing takes getting used to. I use it with the Optrel parking buddy so it stays with me while walking around.

      Overall, I use it from time to time without complaints.

      TIG Fabrication

      Great item for light duty bench TIG welding / Fabrication. Takes some getting used to as your nose and eyes are right up against the face lens and thus you field of vision is quite broad. Lowest light level is 3.0 and the auto-darkening lens works very well.
