Fibre-Metal Welding Helmet 880

Thought it was going to be "extremely light weight" and tough as nails, like all fibre metal products should be but not this hood. The nuts on the side get loose and also you can't tighten the right side one all the way. Kinda heavy too and I'm gonna have to go the Jackson route because it just isn't working for me, coming down fast when I look even the slightest down. I will say it does do the job of keeping the fumes out and also the headgear is comfortable while welding, but you shouldn't have to take it off after every time you weld....and it wasn't a defective hardware as I bought a replacement hardware set and same thing....maybe it's because I have a big L-Xl head and the hood can't go past the ratchet, but it shouldn't matter really. I did try on the pipliner from Fibre metal after I ordered this one and it was like a quarter of the weight lol!

This was my first helmet and it has been very durable and practical.

Big enough inside to fit a full sized 3M half mask respirator! a big plus.

nice large lens that i still prefer over the smaller lens of the auto darkening helmet for some things.

Can sandwich a magnifying lens in with the regular lenses, and the lens retainers make it pretty versatile for how you want to configure it, although if u get too thick they bow out.

only problem is, while the tension adjustment on the pivot works well at first, it gets out of adjustment frequently and must be regularly tightened.

good design with pegs that stick out infront of the lens, so that when you lay it down lens first it dosent scratch.
