My first Hobart. Prior was a Century welder which I used for 20 years.

The welding was phenomenal and actually I was a pretty good welder apparently because I have been making good welds with a very basic and flawed old Century welder. A good bead seams automatic using the new Hobart. My Century finally gave out and I rented a Millermatic for a week while working on a bus conversion. The Hobart is very similar, but i liked the setting on the Miller better, much quicker to get in range, and the Millers torch is much better. However the aluminum drive system is the same between the two and seems very good and rugged. It would be nice if the Hobart would use the metal thickness approach like Miller instead of amperage, which is more vague, I think. I have not yet used the stick or the tig functions yet but will soon!
