    Easy welding

    These sticks are relatively easy to weld with. I'm a rank beginner stumbling along with no instruction so these are good enough for my purposes. Easy to start and don't stick so easily as some of the other welding rods.

    My new go to general purpose rod. Super easy to light. Even easier to re establish an arch. Smooth running.

    Great for beginners

    The Tech College that I teach at has a excess of this particular rod. I ran a few and thought I'd try using it for my WELD 100 Class. (beginners, no experience) In the past I always used 6010 then on to 7018 and so on. I thought using this rod first would be a good confidence builder for novices. It is easy to strike and easy to run. Well I was very happy with the results that I got. Four sessions with the 7014 and then we went to the 6010. It was the results I was looking for. They begin their welding experience with welds that they can be proud of. Using it as a point of reference to what their abilities actually are was a positive move in my opinion. I have a summer session starting soon and I will do the same with them to see if I get the same results.
