A low-hydrogen electrode for use in all positions on low, medium and high-carbon steels.
70,000 PSI tensile strength. Ideal for out-of-position welding and tacking. Runs on AC
or DCEP (reverse) polarity. Not recommended for low-voltage AC welders.
Does Hobart make a 7018 electrode that an be used travelling vertical down
The Hobart E7018 Stick Welding Electrode - 5# Box is an all position rod.. Hobart recommends using it in vertical up to prevent the slag inclusions that may occur when used vertical down. They do not offer a vertical down version of this rod.
Hobart Filler Metals makes 9 different E7018 electrodes and Cyberweld appears to sell two of them. I see that the other E7018 Cyberweld handles says in the description that it is "Hobart 18AC", but this one does not say what it is. The specification sheet is not a spec sheet, it is a MSDS safety sheet. Can you tell me which product this is?
Hobart advises that the Hobart E7018 Stick Welding Electrode - 5# Box is their standard Hobart 418 7018 electrode..418 is a general purpose low hydrogen mild steel 7018 electrode..The 7018AC is the Hobart 18AC electrode. This electrode is recommended for applications using small 208/230 volt single phase AC welders
