What is the life expectancy of one of these lenses. The lens I have I bought it a little over three years ago. It is the second one bought in the last six years. They were very well taken care of and not abuse by any means. The one I have now it acts like it has a short.I replaced the batteries in it and still does the same thing. It worked great up until recently. Thanks

Jackson advises that they can not state a life expectancy on the Jackson Insight Auto-Darkening Lens 46128. The Jackson Insight ADF has a two-year lens warranty.

Jackson advises that the lens in this helmet will have a blue/green tint but will lean more towards the green side.

How do you remove the lens from the helmet? Is there a video?

To remove the auto darkening lens from a Jackson Insight Auto-Darkening Lens 40709 you will need to squeeze the 2 tabs on botton of the lens retainer together and lift the lens and retainer assemble out of the helmet shell.With the assembly out of the shell simply slide the auto darkening lens out of the retainer. Reverse the procedure to reinstall

I have an older Jackson Auto-Darkening helmet with no model number that I can find on it. The shade, sensitivity and delay controls are small dials. The outside dimensions of the lens assembly is 4.72" x 5.39". All it says on the lens assembly is "EQC Master Variable HTLS". The viewing area is 3.9" x 1.9".
What lens assembly model fits this helmet?

The Jackson Insight Auto-Darkening Lens 40709 uses both a solar panel and batteries. The lens uses the batteries to initiate the auto darkening then runs off the solar panel while welding. The insight lens uses 2 Jackson Welding Helmet Replacement Batteries 15984 (CR2450)

5 1/4". Without know what make or model of helmet that you have we cannot determine if this Insight lens will fit properly

The Jackson Insight Auto-Darkening Lens 40709 is not a replacement for the NexGen lens.. It is a lower cost auto darkening lens that can be installed in all standard Jackson HSL-100 (Shadow) and HLX-100 (Halo-X) welding helmet shells.
