I was wondering when f the cool belt filters are like p100 filters and filter out hex chrome and other fumes ,thanks Matt
    1 Answer
Miller currently has no plans to have the Miller CoolBelt Welding Helmet Cooling System 245230 filter out any particles. Miller advises using either a LPR-100 half mask respirator or a Miller PAPR series helmet. The coolbelt is only designed to reduce head and body temperature.

We do not sell Lincoln products an thus are not familiar with their helmet line..Based on what we do know about the Miller CoolBelt Welding Helmet Cooling System 245230 we would say that it probably will not fit because the air duct under the helmet is constructed as part of the headgear assembly which is Miller specific

I bought the CoolBelt and the head gear at the swivel adjustment has broken... I have to locate the positioning at the closest point to my face to use. The head gear has the plastic arms that are pop-riveted into the air supply. I need the head gear with the arms....to relocate it away from my face.. Can I buy the head gear alone or do you have a warranty for this item? Billy- Houston
    1 Answer
The Coolbelt system has a one year warranty on it however, the headgear is only covered for 90 days depending on what is wrong with it. A new headgear can be purchased separately by calling our customer service number.

Makes 9 hours under the hood bearable.
I weld in an all-steel building, the heat generated under the hood is miserable. My son who can make anything rigged up a computer fan for me, it worked but it just blew dirty air down and I sucked it in all day. After a bout with asthmatic bronchitis, my wife bought me this Miller Cool Belt. What a difference this made, the air coming down over my face is clean and it makes my 9 hour days so much easier. I looked at the filter after one day and it was black. Scary to think this was going into my lungs before this. I wear it every day, bought an extra battery and several packs of air filters. Highly recommend this to all welders.
ProsClean air, clean fresh air and healthy lungs
ConsThe headband I took out of my Miller helmet was much more comfortable, I wish the Cool Band would adapt to the headband that fit down more on the back of my head. I bend over and many times I have to catch my helmet as it falls off of my head.

    Headgear is garbage
Works and everything just fine. But the headgear is complete utter trash. Had to keep tightening it and no matter how tight it was the hood dropped down every single time. (Imagine having a bloody nose and every time you barely glance down there it goes.) Thought it might have been just me so I bought a replacement headgear that took 3 weeks to come in just to find out it's the same trash. I plan to modify this with metal bolts and a drillbit.

    Worth the money
I bought the cool belt not knowing what to expect since I couldn't find any video reviews on it, I'm glad I took the chance and bought it, working in 100 degree heat is no longer an issue and no more random bloody noses since I bought the cool belt , I'm a happy welder.
ProsIt does actually help cool your head down, head gear has a vent blowing air on the top of your head and another adjustable vent which can blow air directly in your face.
ConsAt first I had to add an extra sweat band because the headgear was hurting my forehead, weeks have passed and finally got it adjusted to where It doesn?t need that extra headband.

    Great product
I've been a welder for a lil over 8 yrs now. I weld 10 hours a day and yes some days I will go through a 45 lbs spool of wire a day. I've been using this Miller cool belt for almost a month now and absolutely love it. I would recommend it to anyone looking to stay cooler and also for the fresh air. I use to leave every day with a nose full of black dust, not anymore. Wish I would have had it years ago!!
ProsWill honestly keep you cooler and will keep the smoke out of the helmet!!
ConsThe only thing I can say about the whole system is that it took a day or two of wearing it to get use to it crawling in and out of machines etc... but believe me it's worth the hassle!!

    Game Changer
I work in Kentucky in production welding, it got close to 105 inside my shop and the cool band head gear kept the sweat off my face. I've had it for about 2 months and have had no problems with the fan or the battery. I work 10 hr shifts and the battery lasts all day long. I fitted it to my digital infinity with just some easy mods to the head gear. I highly recommend this head gear to anybody who is tired of sting sweat in their eyes. It boosts your mind set at work and makes you want to stay under your hood. Instead of escaping from it.
    ProsMind set Changer

    Works wonders
I love it. It keeps my lens from fogging and minimizes my sweat. And it was easily adapted to my Lincoln c4 Viking helmet with minimal modifications despite the fact that it's made specially for a Miller mask. Anyone handy enough could easily custom make something similar to the product for less than half the price...but for those who don't have the time or know-how...it's an undeniable asset.

    Temp cooler
Works like it is suppose to. Temp does drop under the hood, provided you use all the equipment properly that was provided in the kit.
ProsEven though this is made for Miller weld helmets, I'm using it on a Lincoln helmet and works fine. Plenty of room and adjustment in the Lincoln helmet.
ConsI understand the power drain would be bad, but would be nice if it had more air flow on those really hot days.

    It was for someone else
He wanted it to help get cleaner air under the hood and to help cool off for Summer. It's winter here and he came to me and said if I had an extra beanie that he would buy it from me. He said this thing was freezing him to death. So summer months is yet to come. He loves it so far.

    Cool belt
I've had the cool belt for 4 years and it's a life saver cause I sweat a lot. The only downfall to this is the rigidity of the hose, mine ripped and for some reason they don't allow you to buy it as a replacement part
    ProsNo smoke, cooling is great
    ConsHeavy and hose is fragile

    coolbelt review
Awkward piece. Does its job in keeping the glasses from fogging, sweat off your face, but it comes at a cost and not just money. It can be inconvenient during work setting up BEFORE welding. Where before you set your hood down and set up, now you're taking everything off and having to put it back on.
ProsDoes its job, keeps you cool, battery lasts me 9 hours never ran out yet, no fog on the inner lens or safety glasses.
ConsAwkward in tight spots, can snag easily, air flow is soley on forehead not throughout the hood, the sock & hose on the back to hold the air in makes it hard to tighten your hood from the back. Headgear is slightly heavier leading to over tightening to keep hood from falling down on your face. Air flow seems like it could've been more powerful with holes throughout the headgear rather than just directly to the forehead. For the price I had higher expectations for it. Only reason I would recommend this item is that it is functional among all the awkwardness.

    Running Hot
I am Welder/Fitter and have been most of my life. Never spent as much time under the hood as I am now.
I was skeptical about "The Coolbelt" at 1st, but Now after it has been in use I highly recommend this item If you like to keep your brain cool....and in turn helps keep your body cooled.
The moving air comes down right over your eyes, keeps your glasses free of fogging and keeps the smoke out and away from your face...No more wearing a particle mask in heavy smoke. Even helps prolong your cover lenses..inside and out..!
ProsKeeps you from getting so fatigued in Heat.
Cons The only thing you have to get used to is the head-gear weight difference....small price to pay..

    Very Happy!
I got my cool belt today and used it at work. I work 10 hour shifts and it did not cut off, i recharged it during my lunch break for 30 mins only. It works great and I am very happy with it. my face was cool all day long. It also stops my safety glasses from fogging up!
ProsI stay cool, my glasses no longer fog up, it stops sweat from running down my face, I get more work done, & I take less breaks.
    ConsHaven't found anything I dislike.
