No Choice.....it's these or don't use my Miller welding hood!!!!!
The protective plastic sheeting can be a pain to remove. My biggest complaint ... the lens material is so soft that the slightest touch from ANYTHING scratches the lens!!!!!! NOTHING is more distracring than a scratch or a smudge in my field of view which forces me to turn, tilt, raise, or lower my head while trying to make a weld at the speed at which I have to move on the material I weld. When the lenses are fresh,(about an hour or so), the view is excellent. If I can avoid touching the lens I can extend the life by using safety glasses lens cleaner and soaking three scratchless( HA!!) lens cleaning tissues and GENTLY dragging them down my lens to remove the smokey residue. I LOVE my Miller welding hood but resent having to pay $2.00 for each lens!!! The curvature reduces the old double puddle problem and the extra large window works great for mirror welding...those features are impressive!!!
ProsGreat view when new. Reduced "double puddle" due to design of the welding lens and light seal gasket.
ConsThe COST!!!!! NO CHOICE but to pay through the nose if I want to use my high dollar - high tech welding hood. Seriously guys....$2.00 a copy!!!!
