3M™ Rugged Comfort Half Facepiece Reusable Respirator: 6501QL (S), 6502QL (M), OR 6503QL (L) 

Genuine 3M™ 6500QL Rugged Comfort small half face piece reusable respirator features a quick latch drop down mechanism that allows you to talk to co-workers, without removing the entire respirator assembly from your head. It is compact and lightweight and can be used for a variety of industrial applications, including welding. The 6500QL respirator also comes standard with a fully adjustable head harness and silicon face seal. When paired with a set of OPTIONAL 3M™ P100 filter cartridges, the 3M™ 6500QL respirator is ideal for welding applications.

Assembly contains one 3M™ Half Facepiece 6500QL respirator with fully adjustable harness and quick latch drop down mechanism. The 6500QL respirator fits easily under most welding helmets.

  • Valve Cover Design - Directs exhaled breath and moisture downward. Easy positive pressure seal check.
  • Silicone Faceseal - Provides comfort and stability with a soft but firm faceseal. Extended product life due to resilient silicone material. Our lightest silicone facepiece, keeps its shape in high-heat environments.
  • Cool Flow™ Valve - Enhanced comfort by reducing heat and moisture. Easier breathing with unique valve design.

    NOTE: Filter cartridges ARE NOT INCLUDED and must be ordered from the "Consumables" tab above.

    Works great once you get one which fits.

    The biggest problem with ordering a respirator online is that you can't fit test it. I first ordered a small based on 3Ms recommendation which is based on height. The small turned out to be too small so I ordered a medium. The medium fits just fine. It seems to me that measuring the distance from the bridge of your nose to your chin would be a much better basis for fit recommendation than height.

    Now that I have a respirator which fits, I'm very happy with it. It's quite comfortable and fits well under my Hobart Impact Black welding helmet. The flip-down feature might be useful for talking to people but I find it more useful for enabling me to quickly dry the condensation out of the respirator. As long as I wear a welding cap underneath, I don't even notice the plastic head piece (I do notice it if I try to weld without the cap).

    Overall, I have to say that this is the best respirator I've ever used.

    comfotable and convenient

    This one actually is a little smaller than the 6000 series model on the inside just enough for a better seal on the face and not encumber your breathing. The handle is extremely convenient and the head strap is adjustable enough to accommodate virtually any head size (even my 20.5 inch circumference cranium). I also notice less sweat and condensation build up than the 6000 series too. I am quite pleased with this product and highly suggest it. Due to the bottom breath vent this mask helps control any fogging issues in my welding helmet as well.
