It works until the threads gave out on the plastic female nut and then the male thread eventually started to cross thread and leaded to my fibre hood always falling down. It only lasted a month. I just went ahead and bought a whole new setup and new hood to abandon the classic fibre metal hood.

The threads stripped within an hour of use, unless you have or plan on getting aluminum caps do not buy this piece of junk

Works decent for a simple adaptation for hardhat use. I recommend using the plastic fibermetal hardhat because it is flexible and doesn't "stretch" the hood as wide as the harder/stiffer fiberglass reinforced version.

Used to attach a super glass hood to a roughneck hard hat. Hood is not very flexible, was slow going on. Once on it is solid and secure. The hood was an older tigerhood. If a lot of on and off is anticipated, go with the quick cups. If a solid mount is more important the speedy loop is the ticket.

This hardhat adapter is as versatile as it is simple.
Adjustable at two points, both front and back, it also was conscientiously designed with a lip on each locking tab in order to secure it to one's hardhat.
I don't see this adapter wearing out anytime soon.
