Overall its a keeper with some shortcomings

I purchased the Truesight 2 lens and a hood from Cyberweld. I've been using the lens for about a month now. I'm a professional welder/ fabricator of 25 years.

So far I like the Truesight 2 overall. The clarity is very good. I like the user interface/ the buttons for adjustment. The outer cover lens has a rubber seal molded into the edges. So the cover lens seals off the front of the auto lens very well from the outside. However when its cold out, I get condensation in between the outer lens and the auto lens. The condensation collects on the lower solar assist panel, and comes from exhaling with the hood down. The inside of the hood isn't sealed off much at all. So if you're running dual shield, you shouldn't get soot in between the cover lens and auto lens, unless the smoke is coming behind the hood.

Condensation aside, I do like the way the inner cover lens snaps into place and has a built in holder for a cheater lens. I also like the way the auto lens clasps into the hood. I previously owned a Jackson Insight and the clasp on that hood is garbage. The insight lens wasn't too bad, but not nearly as refined/ user friendly as the Truesight.

The biggest negative with the Truesight 2 has been that the lens randomly shuts off intermittently. You have to push a button to turn it on, and if you stop using it, it will eventually shut itself off. However, it will sometimes shut itself off while I'm still actively using it. Sometimes multiple times in an hour. Its like it…

      Great Lens if it worked.

This cartridge has all the makings of a great lens. It has huge buttons that are easy to manipulate. It has indicator lights so you can tell what mode its on. It fits right into a Jackson Shadow hood which is one of the toughest around.

Now if the darn thing would function I'd still be using mine.

It starts with the batteries it uses up in 2 weeks. It shuts off at random when not welding and does not turn on automatically. The battery is loose in the holder so it comes out all the time.

It takes special lens not available at the weld supply.

Over all its a dud with some nice features.

      Work Provided Welding Helmet

My job provides us this helmet and I thought it was great until they all started malfunctioning all the time. I've hurt my eyes too many times so I went back to my Lincoln.

have had 3, and all malfunctioned!!

Was a great lens when it worked. I had 3 sent to me from KC and they all kept turning off unexpectedly. Hope they fix it because the visual through this filter is remarkable.

      Great, clear lens.

The lens itself is clear and simple. Ive been running this lens in my Halo for about 7 years now. There isnt anything unnecessary to distract from it doing its job. I also have a Digital Elite with all the bells and whistles and my "Let it Ride" Halo X with the Truesight is my go to.

My only complaint is the cheater lens holder is very lacking in the "holding" part. I use a small square of duct tape to fix it.
