      Nice for TIG stainless pipe.

      I like 2x4 glass lenses in flip up hoods… simple, clear, and lightweight. Plus every contractor has free cover slips. This lens I got in a shade 9, and it feels true to shade 9. It’s laminated glass, which is two pieces of glass fused together. A normal thickness glass and the thinner purple glass sandwiched together. What is really neat about this lens is the clarity. In a way it blocks a lot of the arc flare so I can see/sense the heat of the puddle more clearly. When I’m TIG hot (cold) passing over a stainless root in pipe, I need to not melt through the root on the ID. The color when welding I’d describe as a faint light blue. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because of the price. If they were 1/3 of the price I’d have two in every shade.
