Optrel® Crystal 2.0 Black Welding Helmet 1006.901

The Optrel® Crystal 2.0 Black auto-darkening welding hood features shade 2.0 light state that is unmatched in the world for color and clarity. The Crystal 2.0 lens has fully automatic shade 4 to 12 arc brightness detection with Twilight feature to gradually bring the lens back into light state from welding state, reducing eye strain. Optrel's Autopilot automatically adjusts the shade level based on the brightness of the arc or flame. The auto-dark lens can also be operated in fully manual mode with infinite shade adjustment between shades 4 and 12 for a custom view of the arc.

The Crystal 2.0 black welding helmet also has improved True Color technology, which allows for realistic color perception in light or dark states. It scores a perfect 1 rating for optical class, scattered light, homogeneity and angular dependence. The Crystal 2.0 has external controls to switch quickly and easily from weld to grind mode and back again. Delay and sensitivity can also be controlled using the external knobs.

TRUE COLOR passes more colors of the spectrum through compared to standard "green" spectrum welding lenses.



  • External Lens Controls include infinite shade 4 to 12 adjustment, delay and infinite sensitivity adjustment and allow for quick switching between weld and grind modes without removing the welding hood.



  • Patented Sensor Slide allows the detection angle to be reduced from 120 to 60 to prevent the ADF from responding to welding nearby.

      Amazing

      I use this helmet for Tig welding only...Coming from older auto darkening and fixed shade helmets, the weld pool and arc clarity is amazing. The shade 2 idle is clear enough to align parts with precision and see markings clearly without raising the helmet. I also like the auto shade adjustment, its easier to see starting up and feathering out of amperage as the shade automatically darkens and lightens along with you. The visible color is outstanding compared to the green shade lenses. The headgear fits me well and I'm comfortable wearing it for a long duration.

      Bada$$ hood!

      I've never heard of Optrel until a coworker mentioned he got this hood as a promotional gift for buying an ESAB machine. I did my own research and read good things from the U.K. people as it is a Swiss brand. The 2.0 shade when in grind mode and when the filter isn't activated is nice. The true color while activated is amazing, its not a green lens its more of a blue/gray. The way it fades in and out of the dark state is also great on the eyes. The auto feature is really useful, it changes shades based on amps and ambient lighting. Compared to my Jackson hs100(I think) This is light years ahead. I'll never go back to a hood thats a 4-12 unless its an Optrel, the lens tech is just that good. Its worth the price I paid, but I think you could be happy with one of their more affordable goods as well.
