Smith® Nitrogen Blanketing Regulator With Pressure Switch - 3 Stage, Low Pressure 16347-3
The Smith® 3 Stage Nitrogen Blanketing Regulator with pressure switch allows for the remote monitoring of nitrogen gas pressure in oil filled sub-station power transformers. Should the nitrogen pressure drop below the desired level, the pressure switch can be wired into a remote alarm or other device to alert the operator. The 16347-3 is designed to supply constant nitrogen and will maintain oil-filled transformer atmospheres at .5 PSIG.
The 3 stage regulator design consists of a two stage, preset regulator connected to a highly sensitive single stage regulator that maintains a .5 PSIG outlet pressure. A built-in safety relief valve set at 8 PSIG protects the system from over-pressurization due to temperature variations.
The unit also has a separate purge valve that has a preset pressure of 8 PSIG which is connected to the second stage, allowing quick gas filling of transformers.
The highly reliable design provides constant outlet pressure and flow. Brass, aluminum and plated zinc construction provides corrosion resistance resulting in longer field life. Adjusting screws are concealed to prevent tampering.Applications
