I found this little torch amazing for brazing in refrigeration hvac, especially around the smaller components like sight glass, TXV and solenoid valves. These components usually have short makeups close to the valve that you can burn up with a normal torch, oxy/acetylene torches with the right tip, can get the heat and melting point where you want it and fast, so you don’t burn up the body of the valve or sight glass. This torch is tiny, and can be used in all the tightest areas inside condensing units and AHU’s etc. The hoses are braided and tiny which offer excellent flexibility and mobility. The torch body itself is made of Aluminum it seems, so it’s lightweight, but care must be taken not to drop or step on it, as it could bend or break easier than a brass torch body. The hoses are small and if stepped on, it will restrict your gas flow. The carrying/bottle cart is nice and rugged enough, and the front window/compartment holds all my accessories. My biggest actual complaint about this set, is the Smith regulators this kit comes with. They seem well made, but are very inconsistent, I can set the oxygen and acetylene to what I want and after using the torch for a bit or if I walk away from the torch for a moment, the regulators drift from my settings. For example I set my acetylene at 10psi & oxygen at 12-15psi, then a little later my acetylene will have drifted to 15psi and oxygen to 18 or 20psi.
