where is the tank made. my dealer said there having trouble with some of the ones made in china and wont exchange some of them. what info do i need to know about this tank to make sure they will exchange it.
1 Answer
The The Cyl Tec Inert Gas Cylinder - 80 Cubic Foot and all our cylinders are brand new and will not require retesting for 10 years. They are DOT approved and have the required DOT # stamped into them. We have sold hundreds of these cylinders over the years. In most cases there is no problem in having them filled even though they are made in China. Occasionally there will be a gas distributor who will refuse to fill the cylinder. We cannot guarantee that your local gas distributor will fill the cylinder. If you purchase the cylinder from us empty and you cannot get it filled you can return it. However you will be responsible for the cost to return it.

I'm wondering about the size and weld time how much time do you get on this tank versus a 55 cubic tank thnxs
1 Answer
There is really no way to determine gas consumption with out performing a survey of variables like welding arc time and gas flow rate in your welding process . For example if you have your flow regulator set at 20 cubic ft per hour and were to weld continually for 4 hours straight you would empty the Cyl Tec Inert Gas Cylinder - 80 Cubic Foot in 4 hours. With the same set up you would empty a 55 cubic ft cylinder in 2 hours and 45 minutes. This example is totally unrealistic since no one welds continually without stopping for these lengths of time. However if does indicate what the worst case consumption would be.
