Genuine Little Torch™ 23-1003 jeweler's torch outfit is designed to operate with an "MC" acetylene cylinder (10 cubic foot) and any industrial oxygen cylinder equipped with a CGA-540 valve. It welds an unlimited range of materials, brazes and solders the tiniest elements with ease, yet produces enough heat to weld steel up to 1/8" thick or melt 3 oz. of silver (using acetylene or hydrogen fuel gas).

I purchased these about 20 years ago, and they came with low pressure regulators.Is that still the case? If so, can they be attached

Smith® Little Torch™ Jeweler's Torch Outfit 23-1003 can work off the larger cylinders.� The oxygen regulator will fit.� The acetylene regulator would need an adapter or you can purchase a new regulator with the correct CGA inlet.

Do I need to purchase the flashback arrestor with this set up or will the reverse flow check valves give the same protection?

Check Valves are designed to prevent back flow.For example if you are welding and you were to run out of oxygen it is possible for the acetylene gas to cross over thru the torch handle gas mixer and find its way back to into the oxygen hose and eventually into the oxygen cylinder. This then could become a very dangerous situation . They do not prevent flashback.Flashback is an ignition of oxygen and acetylene mixture in the oxy fuel cutting system.. Flashback arrestors incorporate check valves plus a device which will stop a flash back fire from advancing past the flash arrestor. You can install flashback arrestors on the torch or on the regulators. Never install both types on the same system since this will restrict the glow of gases and effect torch performance

The regulators supplied with the Smith Little Torch Jeweler's Torch Outfit 23-1003 would not be a good choice for use with a cutting torch.. The acetylene regulator is designed for use on a MC cylinder (10cu ft) which is to small a cylinder to supply a cutting torch properly. The oxygen cylinder regulator is limited to 30 psi outlet pressure which is not high enough for most cutting torch applications.

You may run into a problem because the shipping address and billing address on the credit card will be different . In order to use the Smith Little Torch Jeweler's Torch Outfit 23-1003 with your 510 type acetylene cylinder you will need an adapter. The regulator is a CGA 200. So you will need an adapter to go from a CGA 510 cylinder to the CGA 200 regulator. Unfortunately we do not sell this type of adapter on line.You will not need an adapter for the oxygen. You can extend your hose by connecting it to a standard red green oxy / acetylene hose by using connectors part #s for WES 30 and WES 31

if you already have and acetylene B cylinder and an acetylene regulator you would need to purchase a Smith Little Torch Jeweler's Torch Outfit 23-1001D and a Smith Oxygen Regulator - 30 Series For Little Torch/Quickbraze.. If your acetylene regulator has a "B" size (9/16-18) outlet connection than this is all you would need.. If your regulator has the smaller "A" size outlet connection you will need an a #WST 106 ..A to B adapter.. You should choose a 40 cu ft oxygen cylinder to go along with your "B" tank

An MC acetylene cylinder is less than 12" tall and has a valve that has a "Y" configuration. A B acetylene cylinder is about 24" tall and has a vertical "post" valve. Both of these will fit your 9/16" hose.

Checked all the fittings 3x -no leaking there. The problem is within the regulator. I just changed the tank (mc) and the new one I got from the welding store was a little overfilled(?) 300 lbs. The acetylene regulator may still be under warranty. The extra pressure in the over-filled actylene cylinder would not have damaged the regulator. Give us a call at (800) 245-9353 and we'll see if your regulator is still under warranty. If not, the replacement acetylene regulator is a Smith 30-15-200 or 30-15-520 depending on whether you've got an MC or a B acetylene cylinder. Awesome Micro Torch Set

This torch set is great. The intricate capabilities and localized heat area are really amazing. Having the ability to have a flame tip the size of ball point point makes this torch really versatile. The torch valve controls are super smooth and can be operated with just one finger. The fuel (acetylene) and O2 regulators that come with the kit are also very well made. What is nice is that this torch can be run on several different fuel sources and all you really need is to do is to get an additional fuel regulator that supports the various fuels you want to work with (e.g. propane, propylene, etc.) if you want that type of flexibility in your shop. No modifications to the the torch, other than some types of fuels will not work with the smallest nozzles.

I have been using an acetylene torch with three tips but for smaller pieces this torch is great as it has 5 tips and the flame on each is quite adjustable. It will take some getting use to but I am sure it will prove to be worth the purchase.

1. 5 tips with adjustable flames 2. Lightweight 3. Great for soldering small pieces. 4. I wondered about the expense to go to acetylene & oxygen but now I know it is worth it. Only negative is the black soot when lighting the acetylene but it is getting better.

I've used an acetylene / ambient air torch in my jewelry studio for several thinking the Little Torch was above my level of ability. I was fearful of the higher heat level of mixed gases but I'm so glad I took the plunge. Your customer service helped me when I had questions and the transition was very smooth. I'm adding the Little Torch to my setup, which until now is the Smith Silversmith Acetylene torch. A great all around torch but I'd like to do finer detail soldering, which is why I purchased the Little Torch. I can tell I'm going to love it, but the learning curve is a little high. Getting used to the two fuel system, and where to set the fuel for the right flame. There are no instruction videos put out by Smith, so I'm relying on YouTube - which seems odd and limited - it seems like the manufacturer should produce their own instructional videos. I will not get rid of my Acetylene, but I think the two systems will working nicely for the different applications that I want.

Small, lightweight. Figuring the correct fuel ratio for the desired flame.

This team of people are courteous and prompt. They sent me a little smith torch. Believe it or not the distributor in my area showed me an off brand and said it was all he had. And it was. He didnt volunteer to order a torch for me or even mention he was a little smith distributor. He wanted to sell what he had. I get why people are shopping online now. So far this little torch has performed well.

The Cyberweld customer service representative was a bit rough around the edges when I called to check on the status of my order. I felt like I was bothering them and didn't get a real answer to my question on expected delivery.

Thankfully the item was delivered in a timely manner which allowed me to finish my project on time.

I had started out with a large and cumbersome torch set up and switched to the Smith little torch. Very handy unit, just the right size and it certainly gets hot enough to do anything involved with jewelry making! The gauges are awesome, well made, much better than the cheap ones on my old set up. I would recommend this torch for those working with silver and copper etc.
