In the description it says that this is appropriate for hydrogen. Does this kit work with a hydrogen / HHO generator style torch system? Also known as a "water torch"
1 Answer
Unfortunately, we are not familiar with this torch system. If you are using a Smith Little Torch Handle, this will work as the gas is not an issue, the fitting is. We would suggest that you contact the manufacturer of your outfit for further details on compatible tips.

Smith advises that the Smith Little Torch Heating Tip for acetylene has 4 holes in the heating tip which measure .018 to .022.. The propane version of this tip has 6 holes and they measure .025

Can this be used with the disposable propane tanks?
1 Answer
The Smith Little Torch Heating Tip you would need for propane is part # 13717.. The problem you will run into is this tip will consume 5 cuft of propane gas per hour.. A 1 lb disposable propane cylinder hold approx 8 cu ft of gas.. You will empty the disposable cylinder in a short time or the cylinder may not be able to keep up with tip and it may not operate properly

Great for HHO

I bought this to use with an hho setup that I put together. It works great even on low pressure without using oxygen! The price was by far cheaper than any other source I could find. Thanks!

I bought this in the hope of getting some more heat out of my Smith Little torch, but it didn't work out. I knew there was a chance it might not, as I'm using a natural gas hook-up, and it just doesn't provide the pressure of a tanked gas. I could see that the wimpy flame it produced would be nice and hot if only there were some pressure behind it. Still, it produced a small but even crown of flame and I have no doubt that under the right conditions it will perform as intended. So this torch tip may be the best of the best, but I can't tell because of this pressure issue. It was a lot to spend just to be disappointed, but I don't expect to be able to return a used tip. At some future point I'll get a bigger torch and switch to acetylene and then I'll be able to judge it fairly.

This heating tip works great for using Muggy Weld Super Alloy 1 for brazing. ( I am not associated with them!) Use any smaller time and you risk melting your base metal. Trust me!! Done it!! Great spread out heat.

No complaints it does what it is suppose to do. I have only used it once but did not have any trouble heating up a large Sterling Silver piece of jewelry.

Definitely a "Must-Have"
October 24, 2014
Was working on sweat-soldering a couple larger pieces of silver together and just couldn't get it done with the #7 tip, so I ordered this tip (and THANK YOU CyberWeld for having the best prices on so many items!). When the rosebud tip arrived, it brought the pieces up to the temperature needed to complete the job very quickly. If you need the extra heat for larger pieces or casting, the rosebud tip is a "must-have" item.

More heat output than anticipated! This is genuine Smith tip. Acetylene is an ideal fuel for this rosebud. No experience with hydrogen or propylene. Cyberweld has the lowest price and fastest shipping on the Internet!

Heating tip does put out a lot of heat
September 7, 2013
I changed from the portable oxy and prop cylinders to full size with regulators so I could use this tip. And it works well with the larger supply capability. Appears to be made with copper, as are all the regular tips, as opposed to brass that might be more durable.
ConsWhile price of basic tip was $22.70, there was an $8 surcharge for the propane version for some reason.
