Great Little Torch, pun intended
Cyberweld has the best price by far on this Smith Little torch system for disposable tanks, and shipping was free and fast. Got my torch in 3 days. It works as it's supposed to. I've read and watched a few good videos on this torch but it still does take a learning curve as it's quite a lot hotter than a handheld butane. You get only the #5 tip with this and you should not use a multi-orifice tip with this because of the lack of pressure in and inability to adjust pressure in these small tanks-so that is a bit of an error or generalization they overlooked in the "accessories available" section. If you wish to buy more tips, the price here is also the best, but just know that the #3 is difficult to light without an adjustable regulator (I could not get it to stay lit) and the #7 can potentially cause a flashback fire since this can have insufficient pressure and no flashback arrestors. The 4, 5 & 6 tips work great. Not really sure if additional tips are necessary in hindsight as the flame is highly adjustable and the #5 is a nice medium. Using the #4 today I was able to heat rivet a turquoise bead without damaging the stone (no added protection was needed for the stone) with this torch, which was one reason I decided I needed the extra fast heat of a two tank system. For all other needs you could easily go with a Smith Air/Acetylene if you're willing to have a larger tank in your home.
ProsUsed with small safer tanks for a home studio
provides ample heat for all my soldering and metalsmithing needs
comfortable to hold
cost for setup very reasonable
ConsWebsite recommendations for other tips was misleading and should be more clear
Two tank system is not as simple to use as a one tank
