These clamps weigh about the same as 12" c-clamps with larger capacity and much faster to use. the throat is much deeper than a c clamp. the clamp pressure is all that you would want. there is little risk of ever bending the screw since you just slide the clamping fixture down the bar to within a couple inches of the work.
You pretty much get the best of a bar clamp and a c-clamp in one. These will become your favorite type of clamp.
