Hi, I have a question about the rebate. I'm very interested the Miller Spectrum 625 X-TREME Plasma Cutter w/XT40 Torch 907579, but if purchased with a 20" torch #907579001@ $144.00 and a Miller Power Adapter P/N#300517 @ $73.00, would this then qualify for the $200.00 rebate?
Also, are all items in stock at your Linden store? And is this only an internet offer?
Regards, Ken

The Miller Spectrum 625 X-TREME Plasma Cutter w/XT40 Torch 907579001 with the 20 ft torch is not considered an accessory. It is a separtate model than the standard Miller Spectrum 625 X-TREME Plasma Cutter w/XT40 Torch 907579 with a 12 ft torch. The Miller Power Adapter - Full KVA 230 Volt 300517 would qualify as and accessory but you would still need to purchase another $127.00 worth of Miller family accessories to qualify for the $200.00 rebate. These items are in stock in our Linden store. This is not an internet only offer

I am going to purchase a 625, but my concern is the air pressure needed. First what does SCFM mean under the required pressure/Flow. The cutter will be used initially at the hobby level. I am on a budget and was looking at an air compressor with 3.7 HP with a 60 gallon tank. It has an output of 11.5 SCFM at 90 psi. Would this be adequate? If not would you have some economic suggestions? Thanks
1 Answer
SCFM means standard cubic feet per minute.. It is a measure of the volume of air that a compressor can deliver per minute. The compressor that you are considering would be able to provided more that enough air to the Miller Spectrum 625 X-TREME Plasma Cutter w/XT40 Torch 907531 since it only requires 6scfm at 90 psi

1 Answer
When comparing the 375 x-treme and the 625 x-treme the width of the cut and kerfs will be almost the same.. Miller advises that they have found the the smaller size of the 375 torch lends itself to the more intricate work ..This will limit the thickness of the material to approx. 3/8"

What size generator should I buy to run this fully on 240v? 6500 watts? 8000watts? I also wanna be able to run a small 20 gallon compressor. Your older 375 ran just fine on a 6500. What do ya think?
2 Answers
The Miller Spectrum 625 X-TREME Plasma Cutter w/XT40 Torch 907531 will require a 6500 (KW) watt generator .. If you plan to run an air compressor off of the same generator while using the 625 you will need a larger generator.. The air compressor must be able to supply the 625 with 6 scfm at a minimum of 90 psi. You will need to know what the power requirement (KW) of the compressor is and then add it to the (KW) need to run the plasma..This will be the size of the generator that you will need.. Note if you plan to run the 625 on 110/120 volts you wil;l find that it will not run properly on a generator that has GFCI 110/120 outlets

The 625 xtreme plasma cutter would require a generator capable of 7kw out put.Although the 625 can run on both 220v and 110 volt it would be best to run it on 220v. Most generators have gfci outlets on the 110volt lines..The 625 will not run properly on gfci outlets
