® discount TIG welders. The Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welding process uses a tungsten electrode, along with shielding gas to create a weld. The shilding gas protects the weld from oxygen and moisture contamination. Argon, helium or helium mixed gases are the most common shielding gases for TIG welding. Filler metal may or may not be used in the TIG welding process, depending on your application.
Tungsten Inert Gas welding machines are most often used on thin base material or when precision and weld appearance are ctritical. TIG welding equipment produces very little smoke and no spatter.
